Princeton was named after Reverend Thomas Prince. He was the pastor of the Old South Church in Boston and an avid land holder in Princeton. This enchanting piece of land is home to the first steam mill in the area. Built up from nothing by William T. Merrifield in 1830, the lumber from this mill was used to build a lot of the homes you see and love today. Grist and saw mills were also found in the Princeton area around the 1700's.

Mount Wachusett is the most physically illustrious trait of Princeton. It is the highest mountain in Massachusetts, east of the Connecticut River.
